Biography of the German modern dancers Clotilde and Alexandre Sakharoff. Interspersed between pages of the manuscript are eighteen original b&w photographs (six autographed), 70 photographic reproductions (seven in color), and three color printed program covers. Also included are numerous magazine articles and newspaper reviews of the dancers' performances, programs, a typescript performance review by Cyril Beaumont (in English), the printed version of which (from an unknown publication of December 1923) appears at the end of the volume, and three essays by Alexandre Sakharoff.

Alexandre Sakharoff (1886-1963), a Russian dancer and teacher, and Clotilde von Derp Sakharoff (1892-1974), a German dancer and teacher, were dance partners who toured widely and developed a distinctive form and style of dance called abstract pantomine. They met in 1911 and were married in 1919. Alexandre choreographed and designed all the costumes for the team, drawing his inspiration from mythology and renaissance paintings.
